Kirtan Jam is Chanting in a small group setting Kirtan is the chanting of Sanskrit mantras in the call-and-response format. This is a practice of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of Devotion, which softens and sensitises the heart making it full of compassion and love. Mantra and Kirtan are tools for transformation. The modern mind habitually seeks for external stimuli, never listening inside, never tuning into higher vibrations or finding the inner wisdom. Kirtan gives us peace from the otherwise never-ending chatter of the mind as we allow ourselves to get deeper and deeper involved in the chanting and the music. With Kirtan the mind turns easily and effortlessly within bringing us closer to the experience of fulfilment and inner peace. Thus, the monkey mind becomes enraptured and consciousness becomes one-pointed. When we chant together with others, our vibrations synchronise and the resulting experience is intensified. So, even on a "bad day" we cannot help feeling happier when listening to the positive, uplifting and harmonising sounds of Kirtan. Sounds like these form a link between the person's present state of consciousness and their inner potential; they activate the spirit within all of us. E-mail for more info.

Neti, nasal rinse
Many
ancient techniques have been developed to eliminate waste products from
our physical bodies (Shatkarmas). One of these is the practice of NETI
(nasal cleansing). NETI cleanses the nose, nasal passages and sinus
cavities. Practised daily, Neti assists to counteract the effects of
cold, pollution, dust and pollen, and helps with snoring problems. It
can also help with nasal congestion, infections, pressure, asthma,
headaches, post-nasal drip or low immune system. It is ideally practised
before meditation or Pranayama.
